Preparing Wild Rice
Ingredients:
1 cup Uncooked Wild Rice
Spring Water
Tools:
Medium Tupperware or Bowl
Medium or Large Pot
Stirring Spoon
Directions:
Soak the wild rice in a bowl with about 2 inches of water covering it for 10-20 hours to soften. Some of the skins will separate from the grain.
Strain the water and give the wild rice a quick rinse.
Place in a medium pot covering your rice with fresh spring water. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil on high heat.
When it reaches a boil, lower to a simmer stirring every few minutes. Add more water if necessary.
The wild rice is ready when it is soft enough to eat and the grain has separated from its shell. Taste test to check if it is fully cooked.
Store in your refrigerator for later or create some veggie wild rice.
